Update on Momma...

In my excitement about putting pictures up about Holden, I failed to mention how it went with Lynda.

From 7:30 to 9:30 AM on 12-31-08 Lynda pushed with all her might. It was quite an experience for me. After many checks, it was found out that he was "posterior". I think that's what it's called. However you say it, Holden was facing momma's bellybutton instead of downward. This makes it quite a bit more difficult to navigate down the birth canal. Which is exactly what we found out. The two hours of pushing warranted very little results and did nothing more than wear out Lynda.

At 9:30, the decision was reached that it would be best for Holden if he came via C-section. Lynda was not expecting this and understandably disappointed and it left her anxious for sure.

At 10:00, we headed to the operating room. What an experience. Truly something I'll never forget.

15 minutes later we have a child. I walked him to the nursery as Lynda went through post surgery things. She had a bit of a reaction to the anti-naussea medicine they gave her but after a sedative and a few hours of recovery she was ready to face the world.

I'm so honored to have such a wonderful wife who showed, once again, that she would do anything for her child. How could I ask for more?!
